Lucy Pittman, 88, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Regency Place. Lucy was born on January 30, 1923 in Liberty, KY to the late James and Florence (Jeffers) Passmore. Lucy married the love of her life Ormel E. Pittman on August 11, 1939.
Lucy was a homemaker most of her life. She later worked for RCA on the presses making records. She worked there for 20 years. Lucy enjoyed taking care of her family, crocheting, and canning & freezing foods. But most of all, Lucy loved her grandchildren.
Lucy is survived by her loving sons: Billy G. Pittman and Jackie Pittman (wife, Mary Jane); granddaughter Jennifer Pittman-Ensley (husband, Albert James III); 2 great-grandchildren: Madeline Fanger and Albert Jonathan Ensley; and many nieces and nephews.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ormel Pittman of 53 years; son Ormel Junior Pittman; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Forest Lawn Funeral Home is assisting the family during their loss. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
