Luther William Nuckols, Jr., 67, passed away Saturday, July, 23, 2011. Luther was born on July 28, 1943 in Indianapolis to the late Luther William and Helen Louise (Jacobs) Nuckols, Sr. He married his love Anna Marie Warmouth on February 28, 2007 in Indianapolis.
Luther was a Police Officer for at least 25 years. He initiated his career with the Clermont Police Force. He worked with the Wayne Township Fire Department, the Marion County Sheriff''s Department, the Wayne Township Constable''s Office, and was currently a Deputy with the Constable''s Office. Luther was also a devoted member of the American Legion Post #64 in Indianapolis. Luther loved karaoke.
Luther is survived by his loving wife Anna of 4 years; children: David Nuckols (Laurie); Brian Nuckols; Robert Nuckols (Stephanie); Jerry Nuckols (Angel); Carla Henderson; and Amanda Mascoe (John); step-son Craig Short; brothers: Terry Nuckols (Mary) and Kim Nuckols (Chris); sister Sharon Sheppard (Jim); 17 grandchildren; and 6 great- grandchildren.
Luther was preceded in death by his parents and sister Wanda Daniels.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Messer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the American Legion Post #64.
