Macel Eyvonne Smithey, 77 of Shelbyville, Indiana, passed on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Major Hospital, Shelbyville Indiana.  She was born June 26, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Wendell and Genevieve Herald.  She was the oldest of five brothers Kenneth Herald, Ft Myers, Florida; Dale Herald, Avon, Indiana; Lynn Herald, Monrovia, Indiana; Roger Herald who preceded her in death.  She was married on December 12, 1959, to the late Robert LeRoy Smithey who passed away on December 5, 1993. She married Billy Smithey on October 7, 2013.

She is survived by her children Robert Smithey (Sherri), Morgantown, Indiana; Tonya Burcham (Jeff), Franklin, Indiana; Lisa David, Greenwood, Indiana; Cheryl Downey (Rick); Franklin, Indiana; Lorna Nunnally (Michael), Fairland, Indiana; David Smithey (Kim), Indianapolis, Indiana; 13 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Eyvonne is preceded in death by both parents; daughter Tammy Hart and grandchildren Justin Hunt and Jessica Brunning.

Eyvonne retired from the Indiana Masonic Home where she worked as a Dietician, and before retiring, as a Administrative Assistant.
She enjoyed wintering in Florida where spent a lot of time antiquing with Billy and was an avid reader.

Visitation will be Friday, April 29 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Saturday, April 30 beginning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Eyvonne will be laid to rest next to her late husband Robert L. Smithey at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
