Marcia A. "Marty" McDonough, 83, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2023.  She had dealt with Parkinson's disease the past several years.  She was born to the late Robert W. Bowser and Ona E. Humphrey on September 19, 1939.  Her stepfather, Arnold Humphrey, also preceded her in death.

Marty spent a majority of her life in Beech Grove, IN where she graduated from high school in 1957.  She and her late husband Tom, also from Beech Grove, were married and raised their family there.  She taught first grade for over 30 years in the Beech Grove City Schools.  She earned her bachelor's degree from Indiana Central University and her master's degree from Butler University.  She was a woman of faith and a long time member of the First Baptist Church.  She was also a member of the Red Hats.  Most of her time was spent working in the yard, volunteering at church and spending time with family and friends.

In the early 1990's she and Tom moved to Greenwood, IN where they lived until his passing in 2014.  From there she and her daughter Kellie McDonough built a home in Plainfield to be closer to grandchildren.  Kellie had been her caretaker the past few years.

Besides Kellie, Marty is also survived by her son Rob (Sarah) McDonough, grandchildren Abby McDonough, Mark (Betsy) McDonough and her great granddaughter Madeline McDonough.
