Margaret Irene Smith, 72, of New Whiteland, passed away December 29, 2013. Born August 28, 1941 in Covington, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Gene Cross. She was a member of The Red Hat Association, and was a professional clown and member of Smiles Unlimited. She enjoyed being a homemaker, and was a member of Life Tabernacle Church in Indianapolis.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; two sons, Jim Smith, and Jeff (Leah) Smith; daughter, Margene Smith; three brothers, Joe, Mike and Pat Cross; sister, Nancy King and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday January 3, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South S.R. 135, Greenwood, IN. Visitation will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
