Mrs. Margaret Dian Montgomery, Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Franciscan Health. She was 81. Margaret was born January 8, 1940 in Beech Grove, Indiana, a daughter of the late Ora Norris and Margaret (Teipen) Cunningham.
Margaret had been employed at Creative Expressions, formerly Paper Art Company in Indianapolis as a machine operator retiring in 1999 after 25 years of service. Margaret enjoyed playing horseshoes and watching basketball especially the Indiana Pacers. She dearly loved her family and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved hosting family get togethers and especially holidays and special events. She was always available to her family and friends to lend an ear and give good and timely advice.
Margaret it is survived by her loving husband, Clarence 'Monty' Montgomery; her children Sheryl Burton, Debra (Terry) Kelso, Rick Velandingham, Mark(Barb) Velandingham and Eric (Heidi) Velandingham; her step-children, Mike Huber and Tim Huber; her grandchildren, Rick Velandingham, Matt Velandingham, Jared Summeier, Greg Burton, Ashley Dooley, Hayley Velandingham, Jourdan Velandingham, Noah Velandingham and Ethan Sims; nine great-grandchildren and a half brother, Ronnie Cunningham.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her siblings, Norma Harmon, Phyllis Rinehart, Shirley Meador and Harold Cunningham.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Pastor Danny Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those we offered to the American Heart Association.
