Margaret Lynn Campton, age 90, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at her residence with her family at her side. Margaret was born September 30, 1925 in KY to Jason and Della (Lynn) Statom. A devout Christian for her whole life, Margaret also loved to write poetry. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and playing guitar. Margaret married William Campton and he preceded her in death on August 26, 2010. She was kind, sweet and she will be missed by all who know and love her.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Mary Lynn Stout, Lois (Don) Bailey, all of Greenwood and Lesa (Doug) Shepherd of Franklin; brother, Eugene (Lois) Statom of Greenwood; sisters, Christine Coffman, Juanita Murphy, Lucy (Jimmy) Reed, Carolyn (Bobby) Pruitt Peggy (Paul) Reed, all of Greenwood and Jewell Whitis, of Stanford, KY; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Campton; brother, Jerry Statom; brothers-in-law, Ernest Coffman, Kenneth Murphy, Bobby Whitis; sisters, Evelyn Dawson, and her husband, Harley, and sister, Trudie Clark and her husband, Newell.

Private funeral services will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
