Margery Magoon, 90, of Indianapolis formerly of Florida passed away June 19, 2016. She was born September 18, 1925 in Haverhill, MA to Walter and Abigail Driscoll.
Margery attended Emmanuel College and graduated with a degree in Chemistry in 1947. She married her loving husband, Ernest Magoon in 1948. Margery and her family lived in Dover, New Hampshire and Edgewater Park, New Jersey. She worked for years for the state of New Jersey Health Department where she was a senior bacteriologist and lab manager. After retiring, she and her husband split their time between their homes in Daytona Beach, Florida and Hadleyville, Nova Scotia as well as spending time with their children and grandchildren. Art and music were a big part in Margery''s life. She painted and played the piano. She was an avid traveler and explored many places in the United States and abroad, but her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved and supported. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, warmth and kindness by everyone she met.
Margery is survived by her children, Jennifer Gale, Laurie Punch, David Magoon and Mary Iams; grandchildren, Amy, Tim and Andy Iams, Sean Gale, Billy Gale, Sherene DellaVecchia, Alex, Zachary and Abigail Punch; great grandchildren, Leona, Audrey, Boston, Aspen and Mia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 11 am in the Catholic Church of the Epiphany, 201 Lafayette St., Port Orange, Fl 32127. A graveside service will follow in Daytona Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1425 Bellevue Ave., Daytona, FL 32114. Flowers may be sent to the church.
