Marilyn R. Blackwell, 70, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the Greenwood Health and Living Community. She was born July 28, 1946 in Adair County, Columbia, Kentucky.

Her parents were Lloyd Ray and Mamee Eunice (Rogers) Murrell. She married James C. Blackwell on January 21, 1968. She graduated from Franklin College in 1969. She taught History for a few years in Whiteland School System.

Survivors include five daughters, Andrea Dawn Colvin of Mooresville, North Carolina, Nikki Thomas of Greenwood, Deborah Wemmer of Nineveh, Rebecca Seal of Franklin, Robin Stier of New Whiteland; two brothers, Roger Murrell and Garrell Murrell both of Stilesville; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, James Blackwell.

Brother Kip Payton will conduct the funeral service at 12 noon Friday, March 24, 2017 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 10:00 am to noon on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
