Marilyn R. Wright, 86 of Franklin, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 29, 2024. She was born to the late Frank and Naomi (Lichlyter) Houghland.

Marilyn loved camping, yard work and traveling to the beach. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event or after school activities with her two children or the grandchildren. Most of all she loved making people smile and laugh!

Marilyn and Richard started dating at the age of 14 and from there Richard and Marilyn were inseparable and married May 5, 1957, he survives.

Marilyn leaves behind to cherish her memory husband of 67 years Richard Wright; two children Robert (Lisa) Wright and Cindy (Dan) Hemphill;  grandson Jon Jacob (Jake) (Kristen) Hicks; 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both parents and a son Curtis Wright in 1971 and two sisters Joy Belle Newsom and Doris Spear and  granddaughter Laura Lee Higgins.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
