Mrs. Marion Doll Fish, of Monrovia, passed away peacefully Monday, January 19, 2026. She was 81 years old. Marion was born on August 12, 1944, in Oberkirche, Germany, a beloved daughter of the late Alfred and Erika (Breithaupt) Doll.
Marion was educated in Germany before coming to the United States, where she built an accomplished and respected career in hotel management. She began her professional journey at the Hilton Hotel on Monument Circle in Indianapolis as a cashier. Her career soon took her to Beverly Hills, California, where she continued her work at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Upon returning to Indiana, Marion advanced to serve as Executive Manager of the Hilton Hotel, later becoming General Manager of the Canterbury Hotel. She concluded her distinguished career as Sales Manager for the Omni Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Throughout her working life, Marion was known for her professionalism, dedication, and warm, gracious presence.
Marion attended GracePoint Church in Whiteland and was a member of the Indiana Restaurant and Lodging Association. In her free time, she found great joy in reading, needlepoint, studying history, and listening to opera music. Marion loved to travel and, in her earlier years, generously volunteered her time with the American Red Cross and Crossroads Rehabilitation Center.
Above all else, Marion was devoted to her family. She poured her heart into caring for and supporting her son, Jim, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her son, Jim Fish, and his wife, Michelle; her grandchildren, Dustin (Sarah) Fish and Caleb Fish; her great-grandchildren, Lilly Fish, Abram Fish, and Arlo Fish; her brother, Thomas Doll; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marion was preceded in passing by her husband, John Wallace Fish; her granddaughter, Heather Fish as well as her siblings, Erika Updike, Michael Doll and Peter Nikolaus.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., February 14, 2026, at GracePoint Church, 330 West Whiteland Road, Whiteland, Indiana. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
