Mrs. Marjorie Lucille Knight, Greenwood, passed away on the morning of Monday, January 16, 2023. She was 95. Marjorie was born October 19, 1927 in Greensburg, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Edwin and Helen (Walker) Blaydes.
Marjorie attended schools in Kentucky and dedicated her life to being a homemaker and was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed reading and will be remembered as an excellent cook. She looked forward every year to planting and caring for her vegetable garden. Marjorie deeply loved her family and cherished the time she could spend with them. She was also a faithful member of the Smith Valley United Methodist Church for many years.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Michael (Carolyn) Knight, Patricia (Dave) Cress, Harold Jeff Knight and Ricky (Debby) Knight; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband of over 60 years, Harold Knight; a son, Steven Knight and her siblings, William Blaydes, Ann Mary Shirley and Edwin Blaydes, Jr.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2023 in the chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. She will be entombed beside her husband at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
