Marlene K. Meek of Greenwood—Marty to her many friends--passed away on Sunday, October
8, 2023. She was born to the late James and Dorothy Stephenson of Muncie.

Marty loved Jesus and loved to tell everyone about him. She was a missionary for One Mission
Society (OMS) for 42 years. For 27 of those years Marty served in Japan, filling several roles
and helping to lead many to faith in Christ. For the last 15 years she served at OMS Headquarters
in Greenwood, providing hospitality to visitors and staff.

Marty was a home economics teacher by training and loved sewing, cooking and crafts. She used
these skills in her ministries and through them built lasting relationships. She had an impact on
her community through service with The Refuge, the Johnson County Banquet, and
organizations connected to her children's schools. She is a member of East St. Church in
Winchester and Rocklane Christian Church in Greenwood, where she served as head of women's
ministries for several years.

Marty leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 32 years David Meek; children
Satomi Jarrett, Christopher (Taylor) Meek and Rebecca (Justin) Tinkle; five granddaughters and
a brother, James Stephenson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Charlene
Sue.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, October 13 at Rocklane Christian Church and again at 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday, October 14 at the church. A celebration of life service will be conducted at Rocklane Christian Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 14. Burial will be at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester, Indiana.
