Obituary

Mrs. Martha Ann (Cox) Campbell, Greenwood, passed away on the late evening of Wednesday, April 6, 2022. She was 99. She was born October 4, 1922 in Martinsville, Indiana, the only child of the late Franklin Ira and Hazel Roberson Cox.
Martha graduated form Martinsville High School in 1940 and during World War II, from 1940 – 1945, she was employed with Indiana Bell Telephone Company as an operator. Beginning 1947, she was employed with American States Insurance Company in Indianapolis as a secretary in auto claims until 1965. She then was employed with Merchants National Bank in Indianapolis and retired 1987 as Executive Secretary to the Chairman of the Board.
Martha was married to Walter Campbell and together they enjoyed traveling, sporting events and Olympic events. She also was an avid reading.
Martha was extremely intelligent and continued to handle her own finances including preparing her own taxes up until this year.
Martha is survived by her three step-children, Jim (LaVerne) Campbell of Reston, Virginia, Dennis (June) Campbell and Jane (Roger) Kelley of Indiana along with their families.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband, Walter R. Campbell.
There will be no public services and Martha will be entombed beside her husband at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens of Greenwood.
