Martha Jean Hutzel, 94, of Indianapolis, peacefully passed away on November 10, 2011. She was a member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, the Indiana State Employee''s Association, and the Southport Eastern Star where she served as a loyal member for over 50 years at post #442. Martha retired as a secretary in 1982 from Howe and Wood High School after 23 years of dedication. She was a loving mother and friend to all that knew her and had grown to love her, and will be deeply missed by all. She was also very close with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by the love of her life, Edward Carl Hutzel in 1994. They shared a beautiful marriage for 54 years; her parents, Charles R. and Lazella J. Livingston; two brothers, Charles and Foster Livingston; two sisters, Helen Hutzel, Agnes Johnson; and one son, Gene Hutzel.
She is survived by one son, Stephen (Jean) Hutzel, of Indianapolis; one sister, Lazora Winings, of Anderson; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M on Monday, November 14, 2011. The service will be officiated by Reverend Ronald E. Haun.
