Mr. Martin Hubert Goodman, Greenwood, passed away on the late morning of Friday, December 9, 2022. He was 89. Martin was born September 22, 1933 in Linton, Indiana to Abraham and Marie (Gibson) Goodman.
Martin attended Linton High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1951. After high school, he proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. Martin spent most of his working career in sales and had been employed from 1962 to 1994 with Spivey Construction and retired after 32 years of service.
Martin was a member of Southport Lodge No. 270, F&AM and was active in Masonic work for many years. He spent some of his leisure time fishing with his brother and friends and enjoyed following the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers as well as Indiana University basketball. Martin was a hard worker and provided well for his family whom he loved dearly.
Martin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean (Smith) Goodman; his son, Scott (Suzanne) Goodman; his grandchild, Aislinn (Jeremiah) Kay and his great-grandchildren, Sura, Kaison and Ivar Kay; his sister, Janice (Ralph) Spilker; his sister-in-law, Eileen Butler and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his siblings, Jack Goodman, Betty Eaton, Ruth Freeman, Joan Losh and Danny Joe Butler.
A memorial gathering will take place from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. He will be inurned at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
