Obituary

Marvin "Pookie" Inabnitt, 71 went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2020.  He passed away at home, in Greenwood, IN, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

He was born June 13, 1948 in Franklin, IN, to Ervin and Mary Bea (Hawk) Inabnitt.  Pookie graduated from Center Grove High School in 1967.  He then served his country in the Army until 1974.  He worked in the drywall business for several years until becoming an insurance agent at Inabnitt Agency in Bargersville, IN, with his brother Carlis "Toddy"  Inabnitt and nephew Bill Inabnitt.  He is survived by his wife Pamela; daughter Kelly (Wesley) Smith and their children; son, Matthew Inabnitt; Pamela's daughter, Kim (Michael) Gambert; Pamela's son, Matthew Maynard; and Pamela's grandchildren; two sisters, Margie Reidner and Diane Shadoan.

He was a member at Bargersville Lodge # 679 F. & A.M. where he was a past Master. He was a member of the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, Johnson County Shrine Club and the American Legion.  He attended Faith Baptist Church in Greenwood.  He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and spending time with family.  Pookie did not know a stranger and was loved by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Morris Inabnitt and Carlis "Toddy" Inabnitt; sisters, Wilma Keller, Erma Heiny, and Norma Gill-Coffman.

A Celebration of Marvin's Life will be held Saturday, June 13 from 10:00am - 11:00am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana with service to follow at 11:00am.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, c/o Murat Shrine, in memory of Marvin "Pookie" Inabnitt, 501 N. New Jersey St. Indianapolis, IN 46204.
