Obituary

Mary Edna Beck Harbert, 93, of Greenwood, passed away December 4, 2012 at Greenwood Health & Living Center. The daughter of Gottlieb Ernest and Nora Cordia Rush Beck, was born December 16, 1918 in Johnson County, Indiana.

A homemaker, she worked in housekeeping at the Methodist Home in Franklin and later with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for the State of Indiana. Mary was a member of Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church at Stones Crossing.

Dr. J. Wesley Hertel will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.

Mary is survived by her children, David (June) Harbert of Greenwood, John Harbert of Indianapolis, Susan (John) Hobson of Greenwood and Roy (Nancy) Harbert of Greenwood; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Laddie L. Harbert, whom she married on November 16, 1940; brothers, Don, Ray and Paul Beck and sisters, Hazel Beck and Gladys Perkins.
