Mary Elizabeth Phillips, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away March 7, 2016. The daughter of John M. and Goldie Sanders Jones, Mary was born December 23, 1929 in Indianapolis.

She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church of Indianapolis and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mary enjoyed crocheting, knitting and going to the casino. A cook, Mary retired after 25 years of service from St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove.

She is survived by children, John R. Phillips, Rosemary Brangan and Margaret L. Warner, all of Greenwood; brother, Robert (Noline) Jones of Indianapolis; sister, Evelyn Cummins of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Russell C. Phillips; daughter, Julie E. Gordon; brother, Ralph Jones and sister, Virginia Troxtell.

Services 12:00 noon March 11, 2016 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. March 10th at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
