Mary Ruth Lafollette, age 96, of Bainbridge, IN, formerly of Greenwood, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 at her home. She was born in Cass, Indiana to James and Maggie (Gaylor) Vandergriff. Mary was a Clerk for Metal Industries for 11 years and Harper J. Ransburg for 25 years. She married Clarence LaFollette April 17, 1931 and he preceded her in death January 2, 2002. Ruth was a member of Greenwood First Baptist Church and was active in the Women''s Christian Ministries, Greenwood Senior Citizens and a member of O.E.S. # 390. She is survived by one brother, James Elvis Vandergriff; five grandchildren, William (Toni), Henry (Karen) and Kenny (Jae Molin) Lukenbill, Nadine (Dennis Woodall) Collins and Tammy (John) Watson; twelve great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Robert E. Lafollette, in infancy, one daughter, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 15, at 2:00 PM, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with entombment to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation is from Noon until service time on Tuesday. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Greenwood First Baptist Church Building Fund.
