Mary C. Phillips, 94, of Indianapolis passed away on August 11, 2018. Mary was born in Centreville, Michigan on June 6, 1924 to Lewis and Sylvia Utterback. She spent most of her childhood in the Kokomo, IN area and moved to Indianapolis in 1951. Mary worked as a bookkeeper and retired from the Children's Bureau of Indianapolis in 1989 upon the birth of her eighth and final grandchild. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling, camping, and motorcycle rides, the longest of which was 2800 miles. They were members of the Good Sam Camping Clubs and took their fifth wheel RV all over the country. Mary enjoyed crocheting and playing piano. She was also an avid sports fan, rarely missing a televised game of the Indianapolis Colts, IU basketball, Indiana Pacers, or St. Louis Cardinals. Mary loved her family and was adored by friends and family alike; she will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by her children, Joyce E. King, Ron (Lorna) Walker, Marilyn Jackson, and Mark Owens; grandchildren, Shelley (Dave) Butts, Greg (Rebecca) King, Kim (Danny) Taylor, James (Shauta) Walker, Jacinda Ross, Frank (Anna) Jackson, Amanda Jackson, and Angel Jackson; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don Phillips in 2015; brother, LaVern Utterback, and great grandson, Blake Taylor.
