Obituary

Mary P. (Lucas) Presley, 91 of Indianapolis, Indiana died at Village Oaks Assisted Living Facility on October 19, 2007. She, Along with twin brothers Joe (deceased) were born in Middleburg, Kentucky on July 1916 to the late Luther and Myra Lucas. For 68 years she was the beloved wife of Ted who preceded her in death in 2005. Also preceding her in death were brothers Frank, Reed, Ed, Joe and her sister Effie, Bertha, Ada. Surviving is her devoted younger sister Martha Patterson of Kings Mountain, Kentucky. Mary was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church , Indianapolis, and then became the founding member of Gray Road Baptist Church, Indianapolis. She served Gray Road Baptist Church in many capacities over the next 40 years until failing health rendered her incapable of attending and participating in church activities. She was employed at Eli Lilly and retired from there in 1978 and after 29 years of service. Mary is survived by her son Ron ( Sandy ) Presley of Indianapolis and daughter Carolyn (Rick) Glowner of Bargersville, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Sherri Ewing, Michael (Judy) Shannon, LeeAnne (David) Duran, Rick (Lynn) Presley and Doug (Tami) Presley and two deceased Roy Shannon IV and baby daughter Presley. She was beloved "Grams" to eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren Jasmine and Hayden. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Village Oaks and Odyssey Hospice Group for the loving care the provided to her and her family during the last 1 ½ years of her life. Service will be held Monday, October 22, 2007; 1:00PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00AM until service time. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association, Greater Indiana Chapter, 9135 N.
