Mary Davis Tipmore passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 13, 2012. She was born December 6, 1916 in Elizabethtown, Indiana to the late George and Allie Davis.
Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Grace; two brothers, Wayne and Jentry and her husband, Hugh (Bud) Tipmore and later her second husband, Gerald Ray.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Joan) Tipmore, Randy (Candy) Tipmore; three grandchildren, Lisa (Andy) Cook, Angela Turner and Randy (Lindsay) Tipmore, II and three great-grandchildren, Lucas Turner, Bryce Turner and Caitlyn Cook.
Mary was a 1934 graduate of Washington High School and a 28-year employee of Western Electric, retiring in 1978. She was a fifty-year member of Southport Baptist Church and a member of the Fellowship Class. Mary was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Mary had unwavering faith in God. Throughout her life, she was very involved with the church and assisted with numerous activities and events.
The family wishes to thank Edith Nichols and Suzie Mitchell for their aid and companionship.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Southport Baptist Church, 2901 East Banta Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to Southport Baptist Church - 2901 East Banta Road Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.
