Mary Margaret Sweet, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014. She was born November 16, 1918 in Washington, IN to William and Laura (Mandabach) Walters. Mary was a graduate of St. Simon Catholic School in Washington with the Class of 1936. She was a Salesperson at W.H. Block until 1980. Mary married Wendell Sweet and he preceded her in death on November 19, 1985. She was an avid reader who also loved to crochet and sew. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and will be very missed by those who loved her.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Jean Jonas; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda L. Kelsey; brothers, Joseph and William Walters, and sister, Teresa Simmons.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 14, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
