Maude Evelyn Baxter, 96, of Franklin died Friday evening at the Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Franklin. She was born October 7, 1911 in Bad Axe , Michigan and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Carrie (French) Randall. Maude attended the New Life Baptist Church in Franklin. She had been an active member of the Senior Citizens Organization. She enjoyed being outdoors and working in her flowers she truly had a green thumb. She loved to play bingo with her friends. Maude dearly loved being with and caring for her family. She is survived by two grandchildren Karen Bowman and James P. Baxter both of Franklin; four great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; a brother Howard Randall of Bad Axe, Michigan and a sister Clairabelle Storbeck of Kinde, Michigan. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Baxter on June 1st , 1973 ; a son James H. Baxter on December 14th , 1998; three sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held Thursday November 1st , 2007 at 11:00 am at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin with Rev. Rick Henry of New Life Baptist officiating. Forest Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of services.
