Maxine "Mackie" Kinder 76, of Indianapolis peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 16th with her family by her side. Mackie was born in Wayne County, Commonwealth of Kentucky on April 24, 1932. She is survived by Charlie, her loving husband of 17 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, James W. and Manie Cross Brown; older brother, George Brown; younger brother, Billie Brown. Maxine was a graduate of Shawswick High School, (near Bedford, Indiana) in 1950. Upon graduation, she moved to Indianapolis and worked at RCA, where she met her first husband, Sam Grinley. They were married in July, 1953. In 1957 she left RCA to work for Eli Lily and Company and retired in 1991. Sam preceded her in death in 1986. Mackie married Charlie Kinder in March 1991. They were members of the Early Birds of Hoosierland Classic Thunderbird Club. She owned a 1957 T-Bird for many years and they enjoyed driving their "Classic Birds" to conventions, club functions and competing at car shows. Maxine was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed working with ceramics She is survived by her sister, Jean Weir (Jerry) of Detroit, Michigan. Nieces Debbie Weir Boles (Ed); Susan Weir Fry (Michael); Scott Weir (Tammy); Mark Brown; Joy Brown Gorski (Ted); Ruth Brown Gerhardt (Steve); Melody Brown. Visitation will be Friday, September 19th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, September 20th at 10:00 a.m. prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 S.
