McRee "Obie" Sturgill, 90, of Indianapolis died Monday, August 23, 2010. Obie was born to the late John A. and Lilly Hart Sturgill in Woodbine, Kentucky on June 9, 1920. Obie worked for a number of years at Cleveland Grain in Beech Grove. He served our country in the US Army during WWII. Surviving are two sons: Roy and Bill Sturgill. Two daughters: Mary Helton and Lilly Rowe. Two step-sons. Hugh Don Sizemore and Roy Marvin Sizemore. Two Step-daughters: Julie Helton and Wanda Irwin. One brother: Fred L. Sturgill. One sister: Janet Hoppus. Several grand and great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his wife Viola Mae Stidham, three brothers and one sister. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am till time of service at 2:00 pm Thursday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 Greenwood, IN 46143. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
