Michael Edward Lacefield, 63, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at his Morgantown residence. The son of Edward A. and Helen I. Cardwell Lacefield, Michael was born March 11, 1950 in Prentiss, Kentucky.

Michael served in the U.S. Army. He retired in 1995 from the City of Indianapolis, where he worked in the Department of Public Safety.

Michael is survived by his son, David M. (Kristin) of Nashville; granddaughter, Kyla M. Lacefield of Nashville; mother, Helen I. Lacefield of Morgantown; brothers, Roger D. (Linda) Lacefield of Greenwood, Timothy P. (Diana) Lacefield of Morgantown and Donald M. (Bonnie Osborne) Lacefield of Morgantown; sisters, Linda F. (Dennis) Purkhiser of Morgantown and Brenda G. Lacefield of Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Jack R. Lacefield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. June 19, 2013 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to service time. Burial with military honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
