Obituary

Michael "Lee" McIntosh, 65, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away early Monday, December 5, 2016, at St. Vincent North Hospital.

Lee was born September 15, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Vired and Juanita (Mollett) McIntosh. He went to Harry E. Wood High School and in 1972 joined the U.S. Army, where he was a parachuter and then a gunner for the 8th Infantry Division. His lieutenant gave him the highest rank with outstanding merits for a top gunner in his unit.

Lee worked as a branch manager for GSF Safeway, Inc. for nearly 30 years and was one month away from retirement. He loved to work, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Lee was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan and played the Indiana Lottery religiously every week.

Lee is survived by one son: Vired Lee McIntosh; one daughter: Jayna (Daniel) Morris; three sisters: Charlotte (Doug) Evans, Vickie (Stevie) Ross, Andrea McIntosh; two brothers: Leonard McIntosh, Vince McIntosh; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carol, in 2013.

Lee will be sadly missed and forever loved by those who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016, from 10 a.m. to noon at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood, Indiana, 46143. Service and burial will follow.
