Michael W. Stamps, 49, of Atlanta, passed away January 7, 2016 at his residence in Atlanta, IN. Born December 10, 1966 in Indianapolis, he was the son of the late Claude and Virginia (Tomey) Stamps.
Michael worked as an Inventory Control Specialist for the Kroger Company in Noblesville for more than twenty years, retiring in 2010. Michael was a member of UFCW Local 700. He enjoyed fishing, football, bowling, and following NASCAR with his daughters, and brothers. He also coached the Hamilton Heights Bowling Team for two years.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah A. (Waltz) Stamps; daughters, Julianne (Levi) Deering and Susan M. (John) Peace; brothers, Danny J. (Judy), Ricky L. (Alisse), Matthew L. (Theresa), Randy W., and Buck W. (Judy) Stamps; brother - in - law, Larry Waltz; a sister, Anna M. Poteet; grandchildren, River Ann, Rain Lynn, Ryder Palmer, Ronin Palmer Deering, and Michael David Peace; nieces, LaTasha Ann Poteet, Mikyla L. Maynard, Vanessa M. Stamps, Ashley M. (Richard) Lark, and Jazlyn I. Stamps; nephews, Richard A. (Elizabeth) Poteet, Timothy L. Stamps, and Joshua L. Stamps; great nieces, Arial E. and Renee F. Stamps; three great nephews, William N. Lark, Dakota M. Lark and Timothy L. Stamps Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday January 12, 2016, in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South S.R. 135, Greenwood, IN 46143, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
