Mr. Michael Keith Ward, Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 18, 2021. He was 65. Mike was born July 13, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana a son of the late James Edward and Erma Marie (Simmons) Ward.

Mike attended Mooresville High School and had been employed as a truck driver for Kroger for several years until his retirement in 2003.

Mike enjoyed racing and especially took great pride in watching his son race. He also spent much of his leisure time playing cards with his friends, visiting the casino, talking about football with his brother and watching wrestling on television. A friendly and kind-hearted man, Mike deeply loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jane (Zeilinga) Ward; his children, Jill (Mike) Barczuk and Johnathan (Jessica) Ward; his grandchildren, Frankie Barczuk and Jordyn Ward; his brothers, James (Lisa) Ward and Steven Ward as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by a brother, Albert Ward.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, with Gobel Brockman officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
