Mr. Michael Dale Wheatley, Franklin, passed away on the afternoon of Friday, December 10, 2021. He was 72. Mike was born October 7, 1949, a son of the late James Martin and Ruth (Miller) Wheatley.

Mike attended Southport High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1967. He had been employed with General Motors for several years and transitioned to Rolls Royce where he retired after over 30 years of service in the tool room. Mike was a member of Franklin Lodge No. 107, F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and the Murat Shrine. Mike looked forward to family trips to both Pensacola and St. Pete Beach, Florida. He had a gift for working with stained glass. Mike was a collector of stringed instruments, from banjos to guitars. He also enjoyed watching television in his spare time, especially Florida Gators basketball.

Mike is survived by his loving daughter, Deby Clark; his grandchildren, Samantha Clark, Victoria Clark and Brittany (Eric) Burton; three great-grandchildren and one on the way as well as a cousin, Jerry Wheatley.

Funeral services will be announced when finalized.
