MILDRED LOUISE BAILEY ARMSTRONG of Greenwood,  Indiana passed peacefully at home on  Friday December 8, 2023.  She was 101 years old.
Mildred was born a farm girl in Oblong,Illinois December 5, 1922, to the late Lemuel and Eliza Ann Bailey.
In addition to her parents Mildred was preceded in passing by her Husband of 48 years, Marion Eugene Armstrong; her two sisters Tuanette Finney and Leta Albert and brother Mervin Bailey.
Mildred is survived by her daughter Jeanne Ann Jenkins of Indianapolis and son Stan Chaplin of Arizona; four grandchildren Wendy Moody, David (Lyla) Moody, Amber (Mark) Brancheau and Alice Dennison; four great grandchildren Mark Brancheau, Eliza Brancheau, Alyssa Moody and Joshua Moody and was "Aunt Mid" to one niece and five nephews.
Mildred served her country as a Rosie the Riveter working for the consolidated B-24 Liberator crafting wiring harnesses during World War II in San Diego, CA. and would go on to retire from LS Ayres after 30 years of service.
Mildred loved reading her cookbooks and sharing her recipes. Some of which she got blue ribbons for at the Johnson County Fair; Traveling with her husband and their dog Sassy in their RV but most of all she loved receiving her holiday cards and letters from loved ones and reading them over and over and over again.
Mildred was a devout member of the Smith Valley United Methodist Church for 69 years and will be remembered for her love of Family, Church and Friends,
