Mildred M. Veerkamp, 90, of Greenwood, died August 12, 2015. Born September 16, 1924 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Edna (Pigg) Garrett.

She married Bernard G. Veerkamp on July 23, 1949 in Indianapolis. She was a homemaker. She was a member of SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church in Greenwood and enjoyed camping, quilting and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Ron Veerkamp and Bob (Trina) Veerkamp; three daughters, Sharon (Dennis) Howat, Barb (Ivan) Smith and Kathy (Bob) Sexton; a sister, Shirley Hill; eleven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Helen Kirby and Jeanne Holste.

Rev. Fr. Stephen W. Giannini will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 in SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South S.R. 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
