Mildred 'Milly' Pauline (Munk) Branine, age 99, of Lancaster, PA., went to her heavenly home on Friday, February 10, 2023. She was born in rural Forreston, Illinois on October 31, 1923 to Anthony Simon Munk and Pearl Victoria (Smith) Munk. She graduated from Forreston Community High School in 1941 and attended Colorado Christian University where she met her late husband, Dr. Clinton L. Branine. Milly and Clinton married on June 20, 1948 in Freeport, Illinois. Together they built a legacy of faithful Christian ministry and close family relationships. Over several decades, they served churches in Colorado, Illinois and Indiana, retiring from Suburban Baptist Church of Indianapolis in 1991 after 24 years of service. In addition to her active involvement in women's and children's ministry, Milly supported Clinton in his various roles as pastor, executive board member of Baptist World Mission and president of Indiana Baptist College.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Eddie) Meshaw of Wilmington, NC and Elaine (Samuel) Harbin of Manheim, PA; her daughter-in-law, Donna (Sumner) Branine; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren as well as five nieces and a nephew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Clinton; her sons, Rodney and Stephen Branine; a brother, Harold Munk and a grandson, Clint Robertson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the Suburban Baptist Church, 722 E County Line Rd., Indianapolis. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service Saturday at the church. Private family burial will take place in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
