Minnie Joe Porter Tines Chapman, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away February 8, 2014. The daughter of John A. and Hannah Miller Porter, Minnie was born November 14, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
An inspector, she retired from Eli Lilly and Company. Minnie was a member of Bethel Church. Minnie and her husband, Harold, owned 100 acres of wooded land, which was eventually sold to the State of Indiana and became part of the Owen-Putnam State Forest.
Survivors include daughters, Ethel M. (Ronald) Ball and Deborah Y. Osmon, both of Indianapolis; brother, Nolan (Lynn) Porter of Terre Haute; sisters, Ethel (Lloyd) Robison of McDonald, Georgia and Shirley (Robert) Jennings of Evansville; grandson, Jeremy D. Osmon of Indianapolis. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lynn Chapman; sisters, Anna Morgan, Jodie Ely, Jean King and Little Hannah; brothers, George Portwood, Harvey Cloud, John, Wesley and Howard Porter.
Rev. David Land will officiate at funeral services 1:00 p.m. February 12, 2014 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
