Nancy Carolyn
Milnes
Oct 28, 1938 — Apr 4, 2018
The world lost a beautiful soul on Wednesday, April 4th, when Nancy C. Milnes made her journey to be with Jesus. She was 79.
Nancy was vibrant, upbeat, and always encouraging. A devoted wife, a great mom, a thoughtful sister, and a good friend to all who knew her, Nancy lit up any room she entered with her warm and welcoming smile.
She was born in Indianapolis to Ford and Hazel Lucas on October 28th, 1938.
While still attending Broad Ripple High School, she met the love of her life- Jack Milnes. They were married within a couple years and did life together until her passing.
They were like two peas in a pod, and enjoyed a blessed marriage for almost 61 years.
After attending Butler University, her first job was working alongside her father at his Hartford Insurance office, and then later joining Arthur Andersen, where she retired as a secretary to the partners.
Nancy was a gifted artist. A lover of life and all things creative, she enjoyed gardening, tending to her rose bushes, and creating beautiful oil paintings. She even sold a few!
She loved road trips to Brown County during autumn, summer vacations to Lake Hamlin in Ludington, MI, and yearly adventures in California.
Nancy loved her family, was deeply loved in return, and will be dearly missed.
Nancy is survived by her husband Jack Milnes, son Scott Milnes, daughter-in-law Sherryl Milnes, and sister Karen Lucas.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Thursday, April 12th, 2018 from 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN. 46143
