Cpl. Neil Allen Woodmansee, age 37, of Indianapolis, passed away October 22, 2017. The son of Steve A. and Mary M. Wilkerson Woodmansee, Neil was born November 2, 1979 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Neil served our country in the United States Marine Corps, serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Cpl. Woodmansee earned the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal and Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.
Neil worked as a forklift driver for L. J. Smith Stairs Systems. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed sports, rooting for the Kentucky Wildcats, Pittsburgh Steelers, the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts. Neil earned a black belt in karate and tae kwon do.
Survivors include his parents, Steve and Mary Woodmansee of Indianapolis; a son, Dylan A. Woodmansee of California and three daughters, Samantha and Paige Woodmansee, both of California and Chloe Cobb of Indianapolis.
Services will take place at 12:00 p.m. in the Abe Lincoln Mausoleum Chapel at Lincoln Memory Gardens - 6851 South Indianapolis Road Whitestown, Indiana. Burial with military honors will follow the services at Lincoln Memory Gardens. Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood is entrusted with arrangements.
