Nellie Lois Smith, 90, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012. Nellie was born into a family of nine on October 29, 1921 in Pilot Point, TX to the late Albert C. and Mary E. (Cox) Ward. Nellie married her love Lawrence O. Smith on September 1, 1939.
Nellie was a homemaker most of her life. She loved her family to the fullest as she will be greatly missed. Nellie also loved flower gardening and watching Western movies. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Nellie is survived by her loving children: Linda L. Harris, James A. Smith (Lynn), and Pamela K. Sizemore; 16 grandchildren; and many, many great-grandchildren as well as great-great grandchildren.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence; sons: Wayne E. and Timothy R. Smith; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood with the funeral service immediately following. Burial will take place in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
