Noel Douglas Gibbs, age 60, of Greenwood, passed away at his home on October 3, 2016. He was born June 19, 1956 in Gainesville, GA to Jimmy D. and Helen (Free) Gibbs. Noel was a U.S. Army veteran. He received an Associates Degree in computers from Ivy Tech and worked as a Program Tester at Eli Lilly and Company. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs football fan and he loved to do crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

Noel married the former Riva Benz on June 14, 1985 in Anne Arundel, MD and she survives and along with his mother, Helen; sons, Zachary (Whitney) Gibbs of Greenwood, Jason (Julianna) Gibbs of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO and Jefferson Gibbs of Greenwood; brother, Scott (Jennifer) Gibbs of Gainesville, GA; sister, Vickie (Richard) White of Gainesville, GA. He was preceded in death by his father.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in Gainesville, GA. The family requests Memorial Contributions to the Johnson Co. Humane Society, 3827 Graham Rd, Franklin, IN 46131. Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood is assisting with arrangements.
