Noel Lynn Whitaker, age 62 of Indianapolis, died at 9:30 am, March 11th , at his home surrounded by his family. Born July 6, 1946 in Trafalgar, Indiana, he was the son of Harold and Cloris M. (Devore) Whitaker. On May 24, 1968, he married Joan Chapman in Santa Ana, California. Lynn was a truck driver for years and had served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Whitaker is survived by his wife, three sons: Troy (Angie) Whitaker, Brandon (Amy) Whitaker and Travis (Alicia) Whitaker; two daughters: Tracy (David) Montovani and Nicole (Brent) Mears. Lynn had two brothers: Lawrence (Dixie) and Gordon Dale (Lynn) Whitaker; five sisters: Karen (Bill) Hiatt, Donna (Marshall) Plummer, Andrea Lammert, Sharon (Bob) Parker and Sybil (Mike) Adrian. Lynn also had six grandchildren: Zachary, Paige, Heather, Cortland, Hannah and Trevor. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Trevor. Visitation will be 2:00pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 in Greenwood. Services will be 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow service in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Military Rites accorded. Memorials can be made the American Cancer Society or to the St. Francis Hospice.
