Mr. Norman Lee 'Norm' Strader, Indianapolis, passed away on the morning of Friday, September 19, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born March 12, 1942, in Beech Grove, Indiana, one of 14 children, including his twin sister, born to the late Thomas H. O. Strader and Marion Ruth (Kyle) Strader.
Norm attended Warren Central High School and went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Army.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Norm spent over 60 years as a semi-driver, including 25 years with Jett Express before retiring in 2013. He was a proud member of both the American Legion and the Teamsters Local 135 in Indianapolis.
Norm is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Carolyn (Lyon) Strader; his daughters, son, and stepsons; three sisters; two brothers; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his daughter, six brothers and two sisters.
A memorial visitation will be conducted from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, where a contingent from the United States Army from Fort Knox will render military honors
For those who wish to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the American Heart Association in his honor.
