Omie Wiggins, Milton FL, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025. She was 79 years old. Omie was born in Knoblick, KY to her parents Clifton Richard and Ollie Eileen Brown. Omie grew up in Fountain Square, IN where she would frequent family Sunday dinners with all of her aunts, uncles and cousins. Omie graduated from Harry E. Wood High School, class of 1964. Omie married her husband, Max Lee Wiggins, in 1972 and they shared 37 years of marriage together unitl Max passed away on November 9, 2009.
Omie wore several professional hats to provide for her family including working as a professional secretery. Omie also served her family as a homemaker for many years; Omie was a true southern cook who made meals for the soul. Omie moved to Glasgow, KY to care for her mother for an extended period of time up until her mother passed away. She was always excited to travel the country to visit family for get togethers and holidays. Omie was a a current member of Grace Believers Bible Study Church in Milton, FL. Omie enjoyed working outdoors and caring for her property, going fishing with her grandson, and watching soap operas. Omie will be remembered as a sweet and loving mother and friend. She will be dearly missed by those she left behind.
Omie is survived by her children, Stacey (Kathy) Wiggins, Regina Huber, Lisa Weist; George (Roxana) Wiggins; granchildren, Caleb, Shelby, Travis, Cecila, Steven II, Levi, Donovan, Kaitlyn, Halie, Leland, and Tobias; several great grandchildren; sister, Janice Meldrum; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Omie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max Lee Wiggins; her grandchildren Matthew and Mitchell.
The funeral service will be on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and friends and family would be welcome to arrive to the funeral home by 1:45 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 3:00 pm.
