Obituary

Opal Louise Lovelace, 92, of Madison, formerly of Morgantown, passed away July 25, 2013 in Hickory Creek at Madison. The daughter of Manfred C. and Bessie A. Glidden Smith, Opal was born October 12, 1920 in Martinsville, Indiana.

A Licensed Practical Nurse for 15 years, retiring in 1980, Opal worked in the nursery of the Johnson County Hospital. She was a member of the Morgantown Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Morgantown Chapter #579 and the Morgantown Rebekah''s. Opal loved painting, quilting and making cane baskets.

Opal is survived by her children, Tom L. (Lynn) Lovelace of Indianapolis and daughter, Phoebe L. Sewell of Greenwood; sister, Veda F. Smith of Tampa, Florida; eight grandchildren, Timothy R., Charles E. Raymond D. Tice, Leann R. Sewell, Emily S., Adam F., Shelby E. and Mckenzie L. Lovelace; and one great-grandson, Paul R. Tice. Besides her parents, Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph R. Lovelace on July 10, 1964, whom she married on July 19, 1942; sons, Paul and Sam Lovelace; brothers, Marion, Chester, Forrest L., James P. and H. Floyd Smith and one sister, Hazel K. Frownfelter.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. July 28, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Graveside services 10:00 a.m. July 29, 2013 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
