Alender, Orno, 94 Indianapolis, IN died April 10, 2007.
Orno was born July 13, 1912 in Brown County, Indiana. He was the son of Homer and Suzanna (Quakenbush) Allender. Orno is survived by his wife of 68 wonderful years Geraldine Alender of Indianapolis, IN, two children, son Stephen O. Alender of Indianapolis, IN, son James P. Alender and wife Karen of Kokomo, IN, three sisters, Lucille Heiner of Columbus, IN, Arressia Allender of Nashville, IN, Jayne Allender of Columbus IN, three grandchildren, grandson Adam K. Alender of Bloomington, IN, grandson Andrew J. Alender of Bloomington, IN and Travanna Alender of St. Petersburg, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and several siblings, sister Dorothy Allender, brother Pat Allender, sister Flora Allender, brother Omer Dale Allender and brother Paul Allender.
Orno retired from International Harvester in 1974, after 34 years of dedicated service as a foreman in several departments. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved being on his family farm in Brown County, fishing and hunting with his brother, sons and grandsons with beloved dogs, tended flowers and abundant vegetables in his constant care.
Friends may call at Forest Lawn Memory Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana 46413, on Friday April 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be immediately thereafter, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
