Obituary

Osborne Hubert Cooper 89, of Hardinsburg IN, Passed away peacefully on May 19, 2013.

A member of "The Greatest Generation," Osborne was an Army veteran of World War II. A Salem High School graduate, he also attended Indiana Central College where Osborne earned a degree in education after his discharge from the Army. Teaching jobs were difficult to find at the time so Osborne went on to work for the Board of Health for two years. From there he worked for three different financial companies until his well deserved retirement in 1991.

Upon retirement, Osborne and his loving wife Jewell enjoyed spending more time with their grandchildren, working in their yard and traveling. He also enjoyed collecting coins and owned several antique guns. Mr. Cooper loved spending quality time with his family, a priority throughout his life. He looked forward to annual family reunions and Christmas gatherings.

A long time member of St. John''s United Church of Christ, he attended services regularly until his health declined several years ago. He was often visited and served communion by both the church pastors and members.

Osborne was preceded in death by his siblings, Ola Lucas, Oral Cooper, Omal Cooper, Otho Cooper, Oberdine Wesley and Oliver Cooper. Mr Cooper is survived by sons, Larry H. Cooper, Ronald O. (Mary Ann) Cooper and Gary L. (Jan) Cooper; and daughter, Michelle D. (Lance) Talbert; twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. Osborne''s love for his family was endless and he will be forever missed.
