Pasquale "Peter" James DeRose, 70, of Lansing, MI, passed away peacefully on February, 13 2023. Beloved father of Chelsea (Nicholas) Mascari, Patricia (Duane) Gillenwater, and Victoria DeRose; cherished grandfather of Gianna, Isabella, Griffin, Luca, Graham, Deacon & Sofia.

Peter was born December, 28 1952, in Lansing, Michigan to the late Paul and Lucille DeRose. Beloved brother of the late Pauline DeRose, Linda (David) Roth, and Greg DeRose. Born into a large Italian family, Peter cherished many fond memories of his childhood. He was a  graduate of  Eastern High School and continued on to Michigan State University to receive his undergraduate degree. He furthered his education and obtained a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in East Lansing, MI. He practiced law and estate planning for over 40 years. Peter was devoted to his Catholic faith. An active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Peter served as a eucharistic minister to his local community. His hobbies and interests included his grandchildren, modeling antique toys, cooking and a passionate Michigan sports fan. He never missed Sunday football. His greatest accomplishment in life was his daughters.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday, February 20 at Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 5901 W Olive Branch Rd, Greenwood, IN. A luncheon will follow. The family will receive friends from 2:00-6:00pm Sunday, February 19 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens & Funeral Home, 1977 S State Rd 135, Greenwood, IN.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church of East Lansing, MI or Johnson County Senior Services of Greenwood.
