Patricia Ann (Carter) Kernodle, 57 of Greenwood, passed away on December 17, 2006, after several months battling cancer. Born in North Carolina on September 8, 1949, married Robert E. Kernodle, Sr., on September 24, 1966. Moved to Indiana in 1980 with her husband and children. She created a lasting legacy as a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker, and friend. Pat enjoyed life and was always looking to help someone or uplift their spirits. She is survived by her husband, Robert, three children, Robert E. Kernodle, Jr. and his wife Kim of Indianapolis, Bruce Wayne Kernodle and his wife Joann of Ft. Benning, Georgia, and Wendy L. K. Haas of Greenwood, IN. Also seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jordyn, Hayley, Brendan, Ethan, Makalya, and Mara. Her parents, Charles E. and Katherine Carter of Elon, North Carolina, sisters Brenda Cain and husband Winfred, Elaine Hull and husband Edward, brothers Lewis Carter and wife Ellen, and Wesley O. Carter, Sr., all residing in North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles E. Friday, December 22, 2006, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135 in Greenwood. Friends may call on Wednesday only from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
