Paul Dwayne Lucas was born September 24, 1932 in Liberty Township, Warren County, IN to Daniel J. and Katie Mae (Gates) Lucas.   Paul graduated from Williamsport High School and enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, serving in intelligence in Korea during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Air Force, he earned a degree in Business Administration at Butler University, while also working at the Indiana State Treasurer's Office. In 1960, he earned an MBA from Indiana University.

He married Kay Baker, the love of his life, whom he met while working in the Treasurer's Office. They were blessed with two sons, Todd and Scott.

After being discharged from the Air Force, Mr. Lucas lived in the Indianapolis area. In 1990 they built a summer home and spent summers there.

He was also an avid Butler Bulldogs basketball fan and a fan of the New York Yankees.

Paul worked in several businesses as a CPA, including George S. Olive, G & P Machinery (serving as their treasurer) and the CPA partnership Boyd, Dehmel and Lucas.

Paul was the author of three accounting books published by Prentice-Hall.

Mr. Lucas was an associate professor of Business Administration at the University of Indianapolis, where he taught accounting, auditing and federal income tax courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Paul is survived by his wife Kay, sons Bryan Todd (Tiffany) Lucas of Benton, IL and Scott Eric Lucas of Greenwood, IN; grandson Aaron Lucas, Benton, IL; niece Julia (Carl) Ottenweller of Morgantown, IN; nephew Tom (Pam) Hetrick of West Lebanon, IN.

There will be a private family gathering Wednesday, April 8 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Lucas' name may be made to the Franciscan Hospice House, 8414 Franciscan Lane, Indianapolis, IN 46237.
