Paul W. Kern, 92, of Indianapolis died Sunday May 30, 2010. Paul was born to the late Kimble and Laura Kern in Bedford, Indiana on May 27, 1918. Paul retired in 1978 from the Amtrak of Beech Grove maintenance facility. He married Clara Thompson and she precedes him. Paul was a member of the Westside Church of Christ. Surviving are one son: Paul W. Kern Jr. One step-son: Jack R. Stailey. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is preceded by a son: David R. Kern, one step-son: Victor Stailey, one step-daughter: Betty Gibson and four brothers and sisters. Family will receive friends 5-8 PM Wednesday. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
